The Origin of the South Knox Mafia
The South Knox Mafia has been around since the early 70's. There are many rumors as to who started the group, and who the original members were. We do know that this "family" is close knit and some members are blood relatives. The SKM consists mainly of the six men shown in the photo above, but also includes many others with roots that lie deeply embedded in the lore of South Knoxville. Sources close to the SKM say some of these members have branched out of Knoxville and into other Tennessee cities as well as other states. They also have close alliances with people from all walks of life and countries around the world.
Within their ranks, they have a diverse mix of expertise. Some have backgrounds in the US Military, some are computer programmers and technicians. There are some afilliated with the Music Industry, as well as landscaping, whitewater rafting, charitable organizations, and the culinary arts. Some have had ties with the local authorities, but it is believed those ties have been severed.
The South Knox Mafia has no legal record of ever being a threat to society at large, but have often been accused of being up to no good. One thing is certain - all the more that is learned about the South Knox Mafia, even more remains a mystery.
