I packed the car up last night. I know we'd be leaving after work and going straight to Knoxville. Tomorrow is my interview, so I prepared by cramming my head with UNIX, something I don't know a whole lot about. I'm not exactly certain what all this job will entail, so I'm going to have to try and reflect myself as a well rounded individual. Don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to mislead them, I AM a well rounded individual, more round in the waist area than I'd like to be, but well rounded nonetheless. WhatI mean to say is I don't want to go in there, for instance, talking up my HTML skills when I might not have to use HTML at all. I need to reflect the all around knowledge of computer skills. If they want to get specific on one concentrated area, I can expand. I just don't want to screw this up.
I feel pretty good about it, though. I think that I have a pretty good chance. I have a friend that got hired into this same department, and he seems to be doing pretty well at it. Not to mention that just a few months ago when I went into Knoxville he was asking me to come over and take a look at his PC because it was doing something wrong and he didn't know how to fix it. I'm not sure if he ever fixed it or not, when I spoke with him recently, he had bought a new computer and was trying to install a CD burner, and having some difficulty about it. He' a real smart guy, though. Hell, I picked up all my computer knowledge in a year's time, I'm certain he can do the same. He works hard and picks up on things quickly. Hopefully I can convince them that I can do the same, and then he and I can work together again.
Once we got into Knoxville, I called Mike, who answered his cell phone to tell me he was in Georgia and would be there until Sunday. Chances are I'm not going to see him this weekend. I've got plenty of weekend, though. Once I got to my parents' house, we unloaded the car and let my Mom and Dad play with Melissa and Jessica for awhile. I went to bed early having to go get my Driver's License in the morning. Oh yeah, Tennessee didn't feel like I was fit for driving for a while. It's a long story...
